The exhibition area this year exceeds 200,000 square meters for the first time, with more than 3,200 domestic and foreign exhibitors and over 70,000 visitors from 120 countries and regions to join the great event of the pharmaceutical industry. As the vane of the international pharmaceutical industry, this exhibition will be based on transformation and upgrading to help companies to write a new chapter in pharmacy and open up a new pattern of international pharmaceutical market.

Mr. Zhou Hui, President of CCCMHPIE, and Mr. Adam Andersen,Group Director for the Informa Markets Pharma portfolio delivered opening speeches on behalf of exhibition organizers.

Mr. Zhou expresses that after years’ of hard work, China becomes an important role in international division, adds depth and width. As major producer, China excels in APIs and herbal extracts.

We are now under the shadow of trade frictions with multiple uncertainties. Pharmaceutical industry value chain is undergoing profound changes. Under this circumstance, it is a strategic question for us to cope with, to actively involve, and to reshape the value chain. And it has always been the mission of our show.

He says, as world-leading platform for goods trade and information exchange, the CPhI brand appeal has become the first choice for upstream and downstream companies.

Adam Andersen says, growing rapidly, while simultaneously expanding its technological capabilities and knowledge, the Chinese pharma market is reaping the rewards of the significant reformation efforts by the National Medical Products Administration. Testament to this improvement is the substantial upturn in perception of China across pharma – with exclusive CPhI Annual Report data highlighting a 9.64% increase in its reputation in the last year alone.

This is reflected in how dynamic and positive the market fundamentals are, to highlight some of them: More international opportunities are continuing to diversify, with many international companies here looking for domestic partners-this is highlighted by the more than 120 countries represented at CPhI China this year; the National Medical Products Administration is making considerable efforts to harmonise with global standards; the biotech industry continues to grow, with new biologics facilities and a rapidly developing supplier base; generics and ingredients are undergoing sustained robust growth-with patients here quickly increasing their use of drugs and spending on healthcare; The region is also emerging as a major global finished formulations hub, with pharmaceutical machinery supporting ever increasing manufacturing capabilities.
