The Handbook For Tariff Classification of Pharmaceuticals----APIs and FPPs, jointly compiled by CCCMHPIE and China Custom Classification Center of Import & Export Commodities (Guangdong , was formally published on September 2014. It is an authoritative reference book that systematically and completely reflects China’s medical commodities’ classifications in customs.
This handbook, prefaced by Si Kangqiang, inspector of China's customs agency, gained great support and solicitude from the leaders of China's customs agency, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the ministry of information and China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). Meng Dongping, Vice Chairwoman of CCCMHPIE, personally participate in the organization of the compilation. It is not only a collection of the wisdom but also a combination of authority and practicality under 500 days’ hard work by dozens of custom classification experts, industry experts, enterprises experts and university researchers.
The book lists about 900 medical commodities, among which about 200 key products were added under the requirements of enterprises. It contains a lot of detailed Information like pharmacy, chemistry, production process and HS Code of the medical commodities and would provide guidance for not only those involved enterprises’ right declaration in medical products imports & exports but also for those custom officers in their impartial enforcement of law . The writing and revising of the information about commodities contained in the book is based on some authoritative reference books and website databases such as Import & Export Tariff of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and a new edition of pharmacology, etc.
