On the morning of June 26, an opening ceremony of the Fifth China International Healthplex &Nutraceutical Expo, the Expo FoodTec 2014 and FiA China and the China International Starch and Starch Derivatives Exhibition was held in Shanghai New International Expo Center(SNIEC).
    During the same period, the Fourteenth CPhI& P-MEC China was held either. The five theme exhibitions covered 200 million square meters and attracted more than 3,500 enterprises offering services in renowned food, medicine and healthcare products. More than 50,000 professional audiences from all over the world gathered together to make this exhibition a gala of the whole industrial chain from material, processing, packaging, and testing to finished products, combining the food, medicine and healthcare products into one.
    Liu Zhanglin, Vice Chairman of CCCMHPIE and Tong Yi, Vice President of China Starch Industry Association made remarks respectively in the opening ceremony. Liu Zhanglin said the 21st century is a century in which everyone will pursuit a life of rational nutrition and health and everyone should enjoy a healthcare. As a large developing country, China have seen a dramatic development in healthcare products, food Ingredients, natural raw materials as well as some related food processing technology & equipment industries and a market vitality and vast space for development has been shown clearly. It was estimated that to the year 2020, in some of these industries China would surpass USA and become the biggest market in the world. Therefore the exhibitions hold in China would enjoy a unique advantage. Then came the Fifth China International Healthplex & Nutraceutical Expo, which would definitely become the largest health& Nutrition Expo in the Asia-Pacific region. 
    Then 10 honored guests were invited to paint pupils in the eyes of two male lions performing on the stage and expressed their best wishes for a bright future of the China International Healthplex&Nutraceutical Expo. The guests included Wolfram Diener, senior vice president of UBM Asia, Matthias Baur, chief inspector of UBM SINOEXPO’s Global Fi Exhibitions, Uchida Takashi, Vice chairman of Japan Kampo Medicines Manufactures Association (JKMA) and Zhong Yanshen, chairman of Singapore CCCMHPIE.
