Chinese Pharmaceutical Investment Delegation Visited Ethiopia and Kenya to Explore Business Opportunities in Health

Headed by Dr. Xu Ming, vice president of CCCMHPIE, a Chinese pharmaceutical investment delegation comprised of six competent companies Mindray, Conler, DESANO, CRMI, Shang Ring and ServiPharma) visited Ethiopia and Kenya from 19 to 24 Oct, 2015 to seek in depth cooperation opportunities in health sector between China and targeted country to accelerating the overall accessibility of Pharmaceuticals and health commodities in Africa. Representatives from WHO, UNAIDS, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other NGOs join the mission and provide relevant support.
The Chinese Delegation first stopped in Ethiopia between 19-21 October. The programme in Ethiopia was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A roundtable meeting was organized in the morning of 19 October, with the support of local offices of UN agencies. Dr. Mebrahtu Meles, State Minister of Industry of Ethiopia, Dr. Pierre Mpele, Representative of WHO Ethiopia office, Ms. Lin Zhimin, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy to Ethiopia, and Dr. Xu Ming, Head of the Delegation, addressed at the opening ceremony.
