Have you become more internationalized today?
Internationalization, a word that seemed to be aloof and unreachable for the Chinese pharma industry, is no longer a stranger now. China has already become the world’s largest provider of API, bearing a great deal on the health and wellbeing of people all over the world. The China-made formulation makers, making an initial but meaningful attempt, have entered the high-end distribution channels in Europe and US in large scale. The Chinese companies are more eager to participate in competition and cooperation worldwide as they are actively involved in M&A, setting up factories and building up sales network overseas. They have also taken proactive steps to file drug registrations in stringent markets, prepare for regulatory inspections and file for R&D of innovative drugs. As they dig deeper in this field, internationalization is deemed as their shared vision for future development.
“At certain stages of development, a company needs to be international, because this process will take the corporate management and product quality to a higher level. It will feed into domestic business as well, and in this way the Chinese consumers will also have access to internationally-qualified drugs”, said by the CEO of a well-known listed Chinese pharma company.
CCCMHPIE, the most internationalized and authoritative healthcare industry association in China, is now conducting an activity called Award for Top100 Internationalized Companies. The activity will shout for those diligent companies, increase their international recognition and visibility, and set up industry role models for the internationalization of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry.
The four awards for the top 100 pharma companies are:
Excellent Suppliers & Partners in International Market of 2015(Top 50)
Winners of the award must be pharmaceutical manufacturers or traders providing long-term, stable supply of high-quality products to international clients, with products taking significant market shares internationally, and main products already certified by highly-regulated overseas markets.
Leading Formulation Suppliers of 2015(Top 20)
Winners of the award must be Chinese formulation suppliers with sound international strategies and R&D capability reaching international level.
Best Internationalized R&D based Companies of 2015 (Top 15)
Winners of the award must be companies that have already made substantial breakthroughs on new drug R&D, positive progress in overseas registration for its key products, and launched new drug R&D cooperation with multinational pharma companies.
Excellent Companies in Overseas investment of 2015 (Top 15)
Winners of the award are companies with scaled investment projects overseas such as R&D programs, marketing, joint-ventures or subsidiaries.
Various channels such as CCCMHPIE official websites, CCCMHPIE we-chat platform and CPhI we-chat have been used to promote the activity and collect feedbacks from the industry. Upon surveys conducted and self-recommendation by companies, 160 candidates were accepted in the first round for the 4 awards as of March 1. Round 2, which is public voting, will open very soon, and all players of the industry are highly welcomed to join in.
