Mr. John van der Valk said, in the last few years the return of trained scientists from overseas had fuelled an increasingly active R&D community – no other country had come close to matching this recent rate of R&D advancement. Couple this with regulatory changes, and there is a clear opportunity to launch products in China – and at much faster rate than ever before possible. “But it’s not just the new-found market access efficiency that is behind this surge of interest. It is the collective environment that has evolved, as harmonisation with global standards accelerates. For example, in the last year, China has joined the ICH and grown the CFDA’s investigational capabilities exponentially. It’s a truly frenetic rate of development and, it is therefore in no way surprising just how quickly we are seeing increased domestic international partnerships established – many of which will begin here this week.”, he said.
