Sydney National Institute of Complementary Medicine visits CCCMHPIE

    On May 10, CCCMHPIE Vice President Liu Zhanglin met with Professor Alan Bensoussan, Director of the National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM) at the University of Sydney. The two sides exchanged views on the internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Australian TGA verification, medical cooperation between China and Australia, etc.
    Professor Bensoussan first gave introductions on issues like the current development of TCM in Australia, policies in promoting TCM use in Australia, and herbal medicine research and TGA verification at NICM. Vice President Liu expressed thanks and gratitude for the Australian government’s support for TCM development in the country, and offered compliments to many of the fruitful results in TCM research achieved by Professor Bensoussan and his team, as well as their cooperation with Chinese institutes. The two sides also conducted in-depth discussions on the global recognition of TGA verification, animal and mineral medicine registration, the registration of ingredients made from endangered species, and exploring markets in western countries via Australia, etc. Before the meeting concluded, the two sides reached agreements on assisting Chinese companies passing TGA verification, conducting bilateral medical cooperations, and so on. Luo Yang, director of the CCCMHPIE TCM department, He Chunhong, vice director of CCCMHPIE Technical Service Center, and Ren Fang attended the talks.
