    On May 31, Vice President of CCCMHPIE Liu Zhanglin met with Mark O'Conner, CEO of Deer Industry New Zealand (DINZ). The two sides talked over issues like the current condition and development trend of deer industry in China and New Zealand, international trade cooperation in deer antler velvet products, etc. Vice President Liu elaborated on the management and market development of deer antler velvet as a kind of TCM raw material, health product, and TCM preparation. The two sides reached a final agreement on co-hosting international exchanges within the deer antler velvet industry, conducting business talks and investigations on New Zealand’s deer industry.
    New Zealand has the largest deer industry in the world. Deer Industry New Zealand was established in 2004 according to the Deer Industry New Zealand Regulations (2004). DINZ’s key roles are to promote and assist the development of the deer industry in New Zealand, to serve the role as the industry representative, quality guarantee and supervisor on training and authentication of deer antler velvet. Luo Yang, Director of the TCM Department and Zhang Zhongpeng, Deputy Director of the Technical Service Center attended the meeting.
