June 21, Mme. Qiu Hong, Assistant Minister of MOFCOM gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the 11th CPhI, ICSE& BioPh China and P-MEC China 2011 held in Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC).
According to Mme. Qiu, being capital, technology and knowledge- intensive, the pharmaceutical industry is perceived to have great development potential and bright prospects. Starting from 2011, the first year of Chinese government’s 12th Five-Year Plan, the pharmaceutical industry as an emerging and strategic sector will usher in five golden years of rapid development. Mme. Qiu expects foreign pharmaceutical companies to strengthen cooperation with their Chinese counterparts, especially in combining their advantages in brand, technology and capital with China’s advantages in talent, productivity and cost, in order to jointly assist the development of the world’s pharmaceutical industry.
Mme. Qiu prizes the CPhI China exhibition as a valuable exchange platform among domestic and foreign enterprises in effectively deepening their communication and strengthening cooperation.
