Sino-British dialogue on pharmaceutical regulatory cooperation held in Beijing

In order to strengthen the Sino-British exchanges on the quality control of pharmaceutical products and traditional medicine cooperation, promote the development of bilateral medicine trade, the Sino-British dialogue on pharmaceutical regulatory cooperation was held on April 19th , 2012 in Beijing. The meeting was jointly organized by CCCMHPIE and the United Kingdom Food and Drug Administration. This was an important meeting carried out by Trade and Investment Working Group of the Sino-British Economic and Trade Joint Committee on medicine for the year. 28 representatives from FDA (UK), British Embassy in China, Reed Exhibitions of British, Chinese Medicine Academy of Sciences Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicines and Health Products Co., Ltd., China Biological Technology Co., LTD., Tong Ren Tang Group Co., Ltd., China (Beijing), Beijing Yue kang Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd attended the meeting.
  The meeting was co-hosted by Xu Ming, vice president of CCCMHPIE and Kent Woods, general director of FDA (UK). During the meeting, the two sides discussed the Sino-British pharmaceutical product registration and regulatory policy. Mr. Woods made an introduction of the UK and EU pharmaceutical regulatory policy. Subsequently, Xu Ming and Meng Dongping, vice president of CCCMHPIE, discussed the new regulations on the EU's imports of raw material drug regulation (EU 2011/62 Directive), British Pharmacopoeia Monographs of Traditional Chinese Medicine, GMP training, medical innovation, cooperation and other issues with the British side. Both sides agreed to pay further attention to the development of the EU 2011/62 Directive, speed up the publication of British Pharmacopoeia Monographs of Traditional Chinese Medicine, co-host the GMP training and promote Sino-British medicine trade investment.
