Chinese Delegation Visited Kenya Revealed Great Cooperation Prospects

  Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce, the delegation of Chinese pharmaceutical companies, led by CCCMHPIE Vice President Meng Dongping payed a visit to Kenya and Tanzania from Sept.13 to 19. During their visit there, the Sino-Africa Pharmaceutical Trade Cooperation—Chinese Pharmaceuticals Promotion and Exchange was held successfully in Kenya on Sept. 13.
  The Chinese delegation consisted of 30 delegates from 21 pharmaceutical firms. Among them, there were 9 companies specialized in pharmaceutical trade, 10 in pharmaceuticals production, and 2 in pharmaceutical apparatus production. The delegation introduced the achievements of China in the area, as well as building a platform of communication for firms between China and Africa. The delegation drew tremendous attention in Kenya as it was the first large delegation of pharmaceutical firms.
  The Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Liu Guangyuan, Vice Minister of the Kenyan Ministry of Medical Service, Mr. Samuel Kazungu Kambi attended the meeting and gave the speeches. The meeting, hosted by Mr. Han Chunlin, Chinese Commercial Counselor in Kenya, also attracted nearly 200 Kenyans in the area. Head of East African Community Secretariat Health Supervisor, Mr. Stanley Sonoiya, Mr. Pride Chigwedere form the UNAIDS, Chief Pharmacist Mr. Koskei of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Administration also presented.
  Ambassador Liu spoke highly of the activity, indicating it as pragmatic, effective, professional and high-class. The promotion video was well-made, persuasive and represented the development of Chinese Pharmaceutical industry well.
  During her visit, Vice President Meng Dongping met with Vice Minister of the Kenyan Ministry of Medical Service, Mr. Samuel Kazungu Kambi, Chief Pharmacist Mr. Koskei of the Kenya Pharmaceutical Administration, and CEO Dr John M.Munyu of Medicine Supply Bureau on issues of bilateral trade and Chinese investment in Kenya . She was also interviewed by the Xinhua News Agency, CRI, China Daily and Kenya Business Daily.
  During the meeting, Chinese and African pharmaceutical counterparts met with each other and talked about business. African buyers showed great interests in bulk BPC products, preparations and apparatus. They hope to innovate new ways of cooperation and improve pharmaceutical industry mutually.
